Aureate Cakery and Unbakery, formerly based in Wellington until the end of 2019, is now fully established in Christchurch and proudly serving the Canterbury region (although we occasionally delivery wedding cakes as far afield as Central Otago!).

Aureate is Latin for golden or elaborate, and our brand is about quality. The business's mission is to provide a sweetfix for everyone, which includes a range of non-vegan, vegan, gluten-free, and raw products (that's the unbakery part of the name). Dairy-free and egg-free can easily be made too, just add a note to your order. There has also been refined sugar-free, diabetic (very low GI), halal, nut-free, FODMAP, and keto amongst other products too. Constant innovation and unique products are key to our business, providing products that cannot be found on the current market.
Sweet treats were where it began, and now the recipes created to bake, fill and decorate cupcakes and cakes that have been relentlessly iterated for years are now beginning to be packaged into shelf stable products. There are many curds, dulces, compotes, meringues, custards, sauces, and syrups in line to be released in vegan and non-vegan versions.
